Why do women have sex?
A recent survey found that, surprise, women have sex for pleasure too! Wow, what a shock! Are these people living in a cave? Anyone who pays attention to popular culture knows women have sex for pleasure. Books like, My Secret Garden, showcase women’s sexual fantasies, most of which are devoted to receiving pleasure. The idea that women are solely ruled by emotions is archaic and out-dated. Like any stereotype it does a disservice to both genders.
As a young women I revel in sexual pleasure. I see it as my right. I also see it as nothing to be ashamed of. I write erotica for the sheer pleasure. In fact, when it comes to sex women want MORE pleasure. The challenge for women today is balancing an appetite for sex with the judgements men are going to make. If women have lost anything, it’s an appreciation for the mystery which makes sex so much sweeter. We no longer have the Audrey Hepburn models that epitomized grace and style without being slutty or baring it all.
Yes, women have sex for pleasure. No, we don’t have to put it all out there.

I couldn’t agree more! As a woman I too revel in sexual pleasure but I still struggle in finding the balance between sexual desire to experiment and let loose and the sexual constraints society places on women. The balance between nun and the neighborhood whore. I, especially recently, have found it increasingly difficult to both express and experiment with the sexual being inside myself. Seeing that when one goes from completely void of touch and interest to experimentation with one’s sexual nature, it breeds unfamiliarity and confusion to those around. Audrey Hepburn was my idol as a child, and still is even today. I absolutely agree women portrayed in media today, and elsewhere have lost that classy sexual persona and our visions of sexual women are barred by images of promiscuity. Yes women have sex for pleasure (amen for it too!) Yes women like to have sex, we just don’t put our every desire on broadcast. Very well put!
if women enjoy sex as much as men, then why are there tons of nude women magazines and I think the only nude straight girl magazine (playgirl) doesn’t even sell magazines anymore. It sounds like I’m being snarky, but I’m honestly just curious ( and you can’t use the men are more visual argument) .
