The latest compliant from Megan Fox is that she’s too pretty to get cast. Wow, I feel so sorry for her. This is following her assertion that Michael Bay, the director for Transformers, was too focused on special effects and didn’t care about the acting. Of course, my first thought is Megan Fox can’t act. I would have loved the first Transformers movie if Megan Fox and Shia Labouf were not in it. Why? Neither of them can act.
But all this is beside the point. Since when did anyone feel like the complaint “I’m too pretty” is legitimate? Grow up! And now, for the grain of truth in Megan Fox’s airhead statements. Actors are too pretty in general.
Hollywood has gotten to the point where nothing less than plastic perfection will do. And that doesn’t include the huge magazine industry built around selling starlet bodies. I do think Hollywood needs to wake up and start casting normal looking people. The plastic beauty standard needs to be thrown out the window.
The thing that annoys me the most about Hollywood movies is the reliance on physical perfection and the utter disregard for acting ability. Starlets like Megan Fox get cast because they are young and pretty NOT because they can act. So I have one request for Hollywood – please stop making movies with vapid airheads and start casting women who can ACT.
